General Discussion / Kenny's Icon A5
Last post by davidk - November 23, 2024, 07:24:22 PM
Today was a weird day.  Completely overcast, blue sky, sun, terrible wind, great wind, no wind... all over the map.  But that didn't stop Kenny and his Icon A5.

Simple task: locate 2 identical control horns for ailerons (done) and 2 more for elevator and rudder...  :-X
Preferably all 4 should be the same, but...

These 1964 decals were very brittle and difficult to place.
They still add a bit of flair.

IT IS ALIVE!!!!

I just had to do taxi tests as per the challenge/request from @Frank v B .

Elevator and rudder need to be installed/epoxied in place. No aileron functions yet, but the servos are temporarily installed.

Bad weather means more building time!
Covering completed.
Need to do:
1- fish wires through the wing for aileron servos
2- glue/epoxy the fin/stab
3- remove green tape
4- glue aileron hinges.
5- make pushrods for elevator, rudder and ailerons.
6- perform mandatory basement taxi test.

Photo #17 other angle, I love the rudder!

The hull masked off and finished with two coats of red below the waterline.
It was sprayed with a rattle can of red rust paint.
Spray painting done outside...otherwise that is where I would be living if I painted the hull inside the house.

Trading Post / 2 Eflite UMX Planes for Sale
Last post by Crash - November 17, 2024, 08:51:00 PM
HOT OFF THE PRESS
Sometimes I need to explain myself. A few months after I bought these 2 beautiful planes,  a friend offered me his 7 year old Tevo Tarantula, 3D printer and I gladly took it off his hands. Now I have been busy downloading files off Thingiverse learning how to use the printer. I now find myself wanting a second printer.

So I am selling these 2 planes that I bought to help me in my quest for another printer.
Sorry no batteries.

2 for $350
UMX WACO $150.00
UMX P51-D $200.00 Brand New, never flown
