Title: Labour Day flying ... a break in the weather
Post by: Michael on September 04, 2006, 08:40:47 AM
I hope the field dries up after those 2 days of rain as I plan to go flying around 2pm today.

Anyone else?

If the wind dies down a bit, you might see Pat and I there later this afternoon.

Ivan.

We missed you, Ivan and Pat... Hope you have a good time if you go.

Simon flew his repaired Spitfire; Really nice!

A few photos of my Monocoupe are posted.

Don't forget next Saturday (Sept. 9) afternoon about 2pm until dusk, is our informal funfly and barbeque.

We didn't get there until about 6:30.
The field is in great shape.
I got in two flights with my Quick-E.
Astro 25 direct (brushed) on 4S emoli cells.
The last flight was over 12 minutes including lots of big pattern style aerobatics and a bunch of touch and go's.
This plane flew originally ~18 years ago on 12 1200 SCR cells and a big 16 ounce ferrite motor from Active Surplus!
In between it used the Astro on 14 1400SCR cells.
It flew well way back then, but now with well over a pound less weight it flies even better.
Also flew the T33 in the fading light, 8 minute flight with lots of throttle management.
Beautiful evening. We should have headed out earlier.
