Title: Mid air collission
Post by: Jatin on June 10, 2007, 09:13:24 AM
Mid air colission are rare but it happened yesterday evening between Colin's Cessna and my Super Cub. You can see the result which describes all about collission.

Anything can happened without notice.

Nice clear skies ... little to no wind ... only two planes in the sky ... what are the chances of a mid air???? REAL GOOD according to Murphy's law, which seems to be alive and well. [:(!] And just when I finally got the plane trimmed out perfectly. (Got just the right amount of flap/elevator and aileron/rudder mixing.)

The good news is that I will now just HAVE to get a new plane to replace it. [;)] Preferably a scale sports plane?

Open to suggestions, guys!  Of course it needs to be an ARF! lol!  I'm leaning towards a big Rascal! [:D]

Colin.

P.S. Again, my condolences to Jatin.

Sorry to hear of the crash.  It's a shame to lose a plane.....or two.

How do we see the results?  Is there a picture?

Hey, Colin don't feel guilty about it. It was just accident. No one would like to do intentially so don't worry about it. I think I fix my plane and just need to install new servo arm. I will do it today. I wonder if you or anyone have some extra antenna wire.

If I find out wire today, I will take a maiden flight after fixing tomorrow.

thanks for your support.

Buy a proper antenna wire from a hobby store, for safety.

Colin, it might be fixable... I've restored several planes that looked considerably more messed-up than your Cessna.  (It's a lot of work, though, and maybe you'd be happier with a nice new ARF.)

Yeah ... apparently.  Someone with more skills than I certainly have is in the process of buying it. [:)]  Me ... I've already ordered a new plane. [:D]

I won't tell what it is yet.  Gonna be a surprise but I'm SUPER excited about it.  Hint?  I have years of experience flying its smaller brothers. [;)] Maiden planned for 27th June. (Just in time for Kingston) Stay tuned!

Aha, trying to get a better sense of what it is, huh? [:)]  I may ... only it may not need them cause it's wing loading is so low. Apparently spoilerons have been known to work great on this plane. Ooops, I may have given it away there. [;)]
