Title: Flying Wed June 3 late afternoon
Post by: Andy Hoffer on June 03, 2009, 06:45:32 PM
It was a great afternoon for practicing crosswind technique.  The weather was much breezier than forecast as you'll see below.  Perfect for vertical helicopter landings with the E-Flite Beaver with full flaps!  Love it!

TORONTO/BUTTONVILLE MUNICIPAL/ON
6:00 pm 330/11kts
5:00 pm 320/10kts gusting 18kts
4:00 pm 250/07kts

Forecast at 1739Z called for 260/05KT from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, then 340/10KT after 8:00 pm.

(10 kts = 18 km/h)

Tuesday was a much better day you should have been there. Thursday looks like it might have possibilities. What did you think of the field? Looks like the hard work is paying off. Get lots of flying in early as we will have a beautiful background of corn later in the summer.

Jack.

The field looks fantastic, Jack.  You guys did an especially nice job on the approach to runway 36 - nice smooth well-groomed soil with no vegetation.  It should be lots of fun when the corn reaches 6 to 8 feet!
