Title: Flying Sunday April 24
Post by: Michael on April 22, 2011, 08:21:07 PM
At this point, the weather forecast is good for flying this Sunday at TEMAC.

I plan on going up early afternoon.

I will post updates Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Of course it's going to nice for flying.... It's the only day this weekend I can't go.

Oh well, hopefully the cold and windy weather we've been seeing is over now.

Has the parking area improved or is it still pretty muddy?

I haven't been there for a while.

I'll mention the parking conditions next time.

(The Toronto RC Club also only has parking on their stone covered area).

It's been pretty wet in the GTA for a while now.

No kidding, seems like the first even remotely decent day for flying in awhile!

Weather forecast for Sunday afternoon is 13 degrees and 10km winds from the west.

Decent, but we'll have to be a bit careful with the crosswind.

I hope to be there by 1pm.

That was a great day at TEMAC!

Thanks Greg for the help in getting my jet to fly.

Waterbomber had 2 successful flights.

I had a great time (despite my Bronco crash).   ;D

Great weather, shame to see a couple of nice models go in. Both deep in the mud in the SE corner of the field. :'(
I hope my DLG practice didn't get in the way too much, i tried to pick the lulls in activity and clear off when someone came out to fly something.

Flew one of my Toledo purchases - a 3DHS 41" Edge.  Nice model that flies great. A steal at the show price  - $125 with the Omega motor.

I don't think anyone noticed your glider flying.

Your Edge flying, however, was awesome!

I got there at 10 am.  The wind was around 5 km. I had a chance to fly the dr1 for three flights. Then took the sopwith out.  I had the stinson sr10 there and flew around when michael arrived.  I have over 400 pictures from yesterday and will try to upload them and link the images.  Unfortunately there are some before and afters.  For anyone that loves foam planes. You need to go to walmart and get a 2 stage glue gun. It will bond much better than epoxy or gws foam glue. We used it on michaels retracts and it held up great!  What a fun day!

Michael, I have a CD with most of the images for you.  I will leave it in the truck next time we meet at the field.

Just go to walmart and go to the crafts area (generally where there is yarn and flowers).  You should see where they sell white glue, a glue gun.  Get the one that has 2 settings... you will know why once you start using it... the highest setting melts and really bonds to the foam and whatever... But the low setting is nice as there is less mess...   I can't live without this thing now... My PZ corsair lost it wheels with CA, then with epoxy.  I used a bit of this and I have never lost the landing gear.. Even Micheals jet should not lose a landing gear with this stuff.  Ah of only the weather was a bit nicer!   :P
