I got this email from Jack, who is constructing new tables for TEMAC.

I have designed some new more permanent tables for the flying field. We have bought the materials to construct 6. I have made the prototype. It is made with pressure treated lumber, cement board and finished with outdoor carpet. As you can see from the attached photos the tables are very solid and should last a long time. The finished dimensions are almost 36" high, 32" wide and 60" long. Each table will easily hold two models being assembled.
In making the prototype I had to face the realization that I no longer have the stamina to do this sort of work. What I would like to do is to kit all the pieces and pre-drill them. Then have a select group of friends with hand tool skills and experience meet with me to assemble the tables. Sunday June 5th. looks like a possibility.
The location would be my son's house in Nestleton outside Port Perry. He has a large barn equipped for woodworking. He has a 10" table saw a 10" sliding chop saw for minor trimming and final fitting. He has dozens of clamps and lots of extension cords. What I had in mind was two teams, one assembling the frame and legs. The other doing the braces and tops.
He is about twenty minutes from the flying field and we could use his Silverado and Rob's pick up do get them to the field. Each truck should hold two or maybe three tables. We could make a day of it, get some beers, BBQ some hamburgers or hot dogs and enjoy some good company.
