Title: Field Conditions.
Post by: Papa on May 29, 2011, 03:30:57 PM
Field conditions at 2:00pm today were extremely wet and soggy. Use caution as the road has pools all along it's length and the end is rutted and bog like. If you drive slowly you will bog down. I suggest you wait a few days for some drying to take effect. Looks like we may have some tolerable flying weather with nice wind conditions most of the week.

Jack.

PS. I forgot to mention the Bugs. Not mosquitoes but annoying nonetheless. Bring your favourite Bug Repellent and lots of it.

Yeah it's a bit soggy for sure. I spent some quality time there this afternoon pretty much all by myself. I parked in the south end of the parking area as it's a lot drier than the low parts near the driveway.

The field conditions may not have not been favourable but the flying was anything but. Had some great flights with my L39 jet, my Pulse, and couple more with my LR-1A Pogo. Even in the sport configuration this is one fast model. The hardest part about flying it though is slowing it down enough to actually land it.  My first landing was a little rough, but I greased my second one, which felt great. Awesome plane though, it's like flying a race car. Can't wait to drop in the Power 25 racing motor into it.

Oh PS, If you're going to the field, don't forget to pack along some insect repellent. The bugs are pretty intense there right now.
