at the Carter indoor on Sunday ? ;D
See y'all at 9:30
I think that some of us will be outside after 12? Not sure, can't do the indoor as I have too much going on right now... :o
I plan on going to indoor and possibly sneaking a little flying in on Saturday morning locally.
I was just out flying four packs without gloves on the 26 of November!! please dont tell the weather man!
There were 11 pilots pilots (I think?) at TEMAC this afternoon!
I maidened my first balsa plane! An HK 47" Edge 540 - thanks to Greg Cadez and Si Chapman for the help. There were some other maidens too, but I don't want to steal anyone's thunder!
I also got a new favourite plane! The Formosa! Wow! What fun. Who knew?
Any pics would be great - did you get some Greg C?
Simon
I got a few shots... not much as I was having fun with the spitfire and the catalina.
It was a good time, weather was good, bit gusty at times...
The usuals where out at full force... did Cliff fly the mini funjet? I missed that! I did see the Dynam P51 go around and do a nice landing... oh no retracts...
Play with the subtrim and find the center point. It seems to help them. We had the same issue with the spit fire and the At-6. But all is good now. Next nice day I am taking the At-6 out...
I started to paint my Dynam mustang (or should I say to Carmen, Simons plane). I am going to paint it like the red tails #7 plane. I have the tail painted and ran out of steam last night. Bit of a busy weekend. Look for it in some future emails.
Also John took some video of the attempted take off of the spitefire.. . It looks good so far...
Anyways, nice to see everyone out.
With the temperatures looking warm tomorrow I plan on going to the field. Winds are predicted to climb through the day but I should be there about 11. Anyone else plan to be there?
I'm hoping for some afternoon flying.
At the field for 10:30 with NO wind. Flew 8 packs with only a visit from Robert Pike. Winds started picking up around 12:30 left at 1:00 with still no one else at the field. Had a good time despite flying alone.
Please list your excuse for not attending below:
By 1:30 there were four of us flying.
Jeff, Ronnie Glenn and me.
Glenn and I flew until about 3:45, the other stayed on.
The weather was nice, but there was strong west crosswinds, so the flying was bumpy.
The entire driveway is very muddy!
Glenn and I felt it would be best to wait a few weeks to come back to let things dry up.
DO NOT DRIVE ALL THE WAY IN, or else you're vehicle will stay there for a couple months.
It was great to be back at the field, and I'm glad I had an early taste of the fun to ahead of us.
I'll speak to the TEMAC executive to see about the possibility of putting down more gravel.
March 14th, anyone going this wednesday? If the weather is OK, I might head in the afternoon. I am off from 12:30 onwards.
Ken Coleman and I are planning to fly Wednesday from around 1:00pm on. We'll park on the road and lug everything in from there.
Eric
Hoping to leave work early and be there at 3:30, give or take.
