I have a unionville beaver that I will be converting to electric. They said that it is a 40 size model. Will a power 46 be enough for this one? Also has anyone converted this model yet? I was going to copy the e-flight version and make a battery box under the wheels. I am hoping to get this done soon. I am going to try to get this ready for the float fly. I am making a sealed case for the RX and other electronics. The esc will be mounted high and I am going to make a scale cockpit for it. The cowl on the plane is hacked up, do you think I can use a cup of something like that for now?
It will probably fly scale on about 600 watts, a Power 46 might be overkill.
As I remember that kit has quite a short nose. Trying to keep everything forward might become a problem with the conversion. I've flown some of the unionville kits back in my glow days and there is quite a lot of wood that could be lightened with the lack of vibrations from the slimer. It does have a very nice wing but with a fair amount of drag you might need a little extra power so your not flying all the time at too high a power setting that things become inefficient. Just my 2cents
