Title: ESC meltdown
Post by: sihinch on May 24, 2012, 09:04:01 AM
Yesterday, on my 3rd flight, I had an esc failure on my mini P47.  This model had the motor, and esc in it from a crashed HK Funfighter.

Previously I had complained about the motor sounding like a "bag of spanners" and thought it had a damaged bearing from the previous crash.

Well, this morning, everything became clear - the noise, the esc failure.....

I had a rogue washer just sitting against the windings/magnets, in the back of the motor!  So I assume I had a short.

I'll put a new esc in, and I hope everything should then be fine!
