As the outdoor flying season draws to a close for the year (I was out both Sat and Sun of this past long weekend and my fingers are still numb) I'm beginning to think about next year :D.
To date I've flown the Apprentice and the T-28. I really like the T-28 and would like to find something with similar flight characteristics but perhaps a little faster. I would consider both balsa and foamies.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Eflite advance. Would get my vote
Or a gp escapade
Thanks Mike.
I think I've seen you with the Advance right?
Is it a sturdy kit?
I just checked out the gp Escapade and I really like the look of it.
I don't own either if them. But I've flown them and they are both good choices. Bigger and more powerful than the Trojan. But forgiving enough to make flying them an enjoyable experience.
Mike,
Would you consider the E-Flite Mini Pulse in the same league?
For some reason the mini pulse and I have never gotten along. I'd go a step up in size to the pulse 25.
I have an GP escapade and it flies very well. I was running on 4S and I think it is better mated on a 5S. But flies great.
I would consider selling... For a VERY good deal!
Greg,
Would the current setup handle a 5s?
How good is VERY good? ;D
Yes, I have a 60 amp ESC that is good for 6S and the motor is a 42/60 that is good for that also. I can take it out when you are thinking of coming...
My third plane was the mini P51 mustang from hobbyking ($49) great performer and very agile, I credit it with improving my flying skills more than any other plane I've had.
I like the P-51 but I already have a war bird and would like something different.
On the other hand I found a really good deal on a Rifle ;D. Maybe something to work up to?!?
The rifle sounds like an excellent choice.
Get two.. The first one won't last long
It comes with a spare wing and spinner so I think I'm all set.
So which one are you set on?
...the two rifles :D
Do you have any preference on batteries and plane size?
You can consider 6s setup by using 2 3s batteries used for the Trojan.

The spare wing wont be all that important when you cant find the rest of the plane in the hole it made when it hit the ground lol

A rifle for a third plane? Holy I think that eclipses me when I bought an L39 EDF for my second plane (for the record I did have it airborne for a solid 3 minutes before it was never seen again!)

Sure it will. I can use it as a boomerang ;D

Actually, I've been searching Google to find a mod so I can cram a 70mm edf in it but it doesn't look like anyone's tried that yet. It's got me thinking.....
