Title: Christmas Album
Post by: sihinch on November 10, 2012, 04:39:09 PM
Les was just telling me how much she loves the noises of electric planes, at home.  Sound like Spektrum transmitters turning on, and ESCs booting up, and lipo's finishing charging.  She says she's going to do a Christmas album........

"RC Wives Acapella - Sounds of Electrics"   ;D

My wife says she is in!   She thinks it will make a great package deal with our TEMAC guys Calender!

I've been trying to get any of my ESCs or chargers to beep out the opening bars to Jingle Bells but so far no luck. Perhaps I should try a Christmas Carol?...Good King Wencelas???? Seems like a Castley Creation to me!

I have been wanting ring tones on my CC ESCs for a while now. That would be great, but what tune?

FWIW, the Turnigy Plush ESCs do "Jingle Bells"

Brushless motor singing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9XWw_pFuB8#)

With a bit of programming, they could play just about anything

Playing music with the F1 car engine-Top Gear - BBC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BaR1Kc62Pk#)

Pat,
That's brilliant! I 'm a Brit and almost stood up when God Save the Queen came on! I'll have to get one of those program cards!
Perhaps we should give our album "playlist" a decided RC flavour!
1. "Santa Claus is RCing to Town!"
2. .....

If we can get the whole album done...who knows?

Just to be clear, there are only 15 songs possible with the programming card. Not sure God save the Queen is on there :)

Some are "Western" and some are "Eastern".
I used to have a list, I will see if I can find it. Doesn't seem to be in the more recent manuals.

edit - Looked around and found the list on line

Susanna (USA)
To Alice (Germany)
Ode to joy (Germany)
Take off your hood (China)
Jasmine (China)
Red river valley (Canada)
Auld Lang Syne (Scotland)
Jingle Bells (USA)
Song of matador (Spain)
The end of the world (USA)
Rhythm of triumph (Germany)
Love is blue (USA)
Beautiful Spanish lady (Italy)
Post carriage (Japan)
Love bird (China)

I suspect it is possible to hack into the communications between the programming card and the ESC to be able to do your own songs.
Might not be easy though.

Warning - this post may contain language that some people find a little bit rude, I'm afraid! But it's funny! ;D

In our house (both my wife & I are English) the term RC Wife is a play on this.....

arsey

To be grumpy. see also arse and arsed
Do get arsey with me! - Don't go into a bad mood

Unfortunately those little songs get old fast.  Cool at first but after you hear them a couple times, you will want to turn them off.  It also takes longer for your ESC to arm when they are enabled. ;)

Have to agree on that. ;D
You can skip the music by blipping the throttle stick as soon as it starts

I didn't realize you could skip the music by blipping the throttle stick.
I still turn off all the tunes! ;)

Imagine all those wasted milli amps!

Slightly off topic but did you know the F5B-D guys running limiters turn off the beeps to save power!

How about having your ESC play the carol for schizophrenics?...Do you hear what I hear?
