Got out to the field for 2 hours today. had fun and was warm till the end.  Glad to see the tough guys of TEMAC out keeping planes in the air. Too bad the princess of the club couldn't make it

Mike unfortunately

Quote"I was washing my hair. "

Is not a suitable excuse.

Had you included "shaved your legs and or arm pits" you would have been in the clear.

Fly-able weather. I was at my alternative field at 08:00. Managed to burn two Lipo worth of air time. Enough time to have painful fingers in -4C temperature.

Hey Frank,

Unless you are alone and need to hand launch your plane there is no reason to freeze your hands.
I have the setup in the picture bellow and it is perfect (the only time I freeze is when changing batteries in the plane).
I have it with an electric heather but if you throw in one of those reusable $5 gel packs that you heat in boiling water it works perfectly good.

Plus while you're flying you can warm up a pizza pocket for lunch with that thing.  Genius.

I don't need to hand launch my quad so your setup should work.

I assume you put your RC tx in there and there are slits cut for your hands, right?  Did you modify a fanny pack or was it designed and sold for that purposes?

What I used was a pair of gloves from Dollar store with slits cut for the thumb and two fingers. Obviously it was not adequate...

...I am starting to get hungry now..:)

I modified it just a bit to have a tighter fit around the hands and attached the the heaters to the back.
All in all it was less then $30!

Enjoy your mystery meat Ed, I prefer something a little more elegant.
