I know that I had a talk with a few members when I started this hobby and they stressed that going bigger is not always better. I find now the weather is kind of cr*ppy and I am acking to fly. But now all the planes require an SUV to get the the field and it's a second job to set them up. :-X
You have grown and so has you fleet Greeg! I ry to fly what ever and when ever I can. You need to have a couple back seat of the car sized planes for those moments of oh gosh I need to fly! Ive been too busy to fly it seems reciently...
Anyone plan on venturing out this weekend??
It's funny you say that Greg, I'be been thinking about a new car and I wouldn't know what to choose. I've always had sports cars and I can't think of a sports car that you can get a 60" plane in without taking the wings off!
Answers on a post card!
And no, I can't afford a Cayene!
there are several hot station wagons out there Simon!
This is what I was thinking...... ;)
that is EXACTLY what i was thinking!!
ps did you get my email?
If you can not afford the Cayane turbo maybe a station BMW 540.... I am sure it will be sporty enough for you.
Nothing beats an SUV or a mini-van, but ...
Got your email Ed, but I can't meet you to go purse shopping, I'm washing my hair!
But seriously, I haven't unpacked the model yet. So no weights.
And thanks Bobby and Michael for the wonderful car choices. I think I've just got time to write to Santa again!
Please Michael no chevys. Friends dont let friends drive chevys
My brother has always bought small wagons - Escort,Focus and now a Passat.
They all were economical to operate and held a lot of models. This class of vehicle isvery popular in Europe, and always sold well in Canada.
To me they are just about the most practical class of car there is.
But because Americans don't buy station wagons almost none are available anymore. They have been replaced with "crossover" vehicles.
Less space, heavier, bigger engines, more expensive. And all the "charm" of the SUVs they are trying to look like. ::)
Small ugly trucks instead of big ugly trucks, all because Americans like trucks. >:(
I have to agree with Pat. As a European immigrant, I find it frustrating that I can't get hatchbacks like I could back in the old homeland......
For my situation, with no kids, a hatch is perfect for aeroplanes and yet economical. Is it only the Mazda 3 here in North America?
Our little Kia Spectra holds a fair bit but the model is gone from the lineup.... Its been a great little car for us. This is the replacement.

Two words...
Honda element
Best plane hauler ever.
Well, if the stuff didn't rust out so bad!
I should be at the field by about 11...... If my phone rings everyone make airplane noises!
It is mint outside.. I would love to go! :o
Come on guys I thought we have a respectful club here! The president of the club can not show up with a Kia Peugeot or Honda.
If he doesn't show up in a plane (not with) than at least a nice car.

Get a Land Rover LR2, LR3 or LR4, we just got a LR2 and it is really easy to fit planes in. ;D
What you need is a Ford Flex!
Jack.
