Title: Christmas break builds
Post by: battlestu on January 02, 2013, 08:16:40 AM
So what did everyone work over the Christmas break?

Between visiting family and keeping the kids entertained i was able to re-cover the Toni... I'm hoping the new colour scheme will get me a few more km/p ;)

That looks great!

Can't wait to see it this spring....

As for builds.. I worked on a few myself.

11.7 lbs Taylor Craft.
E-Flite Cub, just waiting for ESC
Carl Goldberg Cub G60- Clipped wing- 5S, 4000, waiting for motor from the King.
Restoring the Kyosho Spitefire.. Need wheel collars and spinner.
GWS ME109, build one year ago.. Was not in the mood to finish until all my normal Winter Planes broke for some reason or another... Mainly Motors failing (Brushed), but the planes are fine.. lol!

Nice work, battlestu!

Looks pretty Greg, nice colour scheme, whats next the Endeavor AR 6. You never can have enough F1 racers.

The AR-6 is on my build list. Hoping Red has the kit ready before too long :)

Hi Greg so a few questions:
1. Ho did you made the pattern I assume you cut pieces of covering but how everything fits together on the plane so nicely.
2. Where did you buy the stickers (Just don't tell me you printed them please?
3. I guess you repainted the cowling - sand, sprayed automotive paint and 100 clear coats...?

When I really need a workshop - who is organizing one I will bring snacks (sorry Ed no drinks as I need to actually understand what is going on :)

That looks like a Totally different airplane!!  Wow. I'm very impressed. Red will defiantly be faster than the silver was.

Oh and Bobby there is usually a kids drink list.

Hmmm I just noticed on a sepparate thread that Mike mentioned a Sundowner under his tree...
Looking at the red and white scheme, is this a coincidence or you left your Little Tony under Mike's tree by any chance ?

1. Can't take credit for the pattern I copied a Reno racer and did my best to line everything up
http://www.strega.com/ (http://www.strega.com/)
2. I get the vinyl graphics from
http://callie-graphics.com/ (http://callie-graphics.com/)
She has a bunch of pre made ones but will make custom sizes
3. Yep re-painted the cowl, hatch, and turtle deck. Lots of sanding and used the paint you see in the photo (Tamiya rattle can)

Here is a Christmas break build and before. It is an Outrageous F1 scratchbuilt from a kit I have. Getting it ready for covering when I am in Florida for the month of Feb.
Its rumered to be an ARF in the near future, the proto type has been built [in China]and flown at a race in Ca.
The last picture was taken at the Reno air races.
Sorry Greg for hijacking your thread.
