My favourite source for plastics (and fibreglass cloth and resins) is Plastic World  (http://plasticworld.ca/ (http://plasticworld.ca/)) on Sheppard Avenue just west of Dufferin.  Not sure if they have Mylar.

Plastic World is a great place and they do have Mylar and exotic plastics.  I get my fibreglass cloth there and parts for my daughter's projects (styrene).  Angel veil fibreglass cloth is only something like $3.95 a meter (thin random direction long strand glass cloth.  You can read a paper through it). I use it to reinforce balsa and do repairs.

They are very helpful with advice as well.
