I picked up a Williams pilot figure in 1/4. I am going to use this thread as a build log. The Williams pilot is good, but not great. It faces straight and that is not natural. The helmet is very generic and not right for a WW1 pilot. So I am going to hack this one up and make something a bit more scale. I have to also re-shape the lower jaw and add a different helmet that warps around the chin.
Supplies: Williams 1/4 Pilot, Tamiya 2 part putty, light weight auto body filler, clear plastic sheet (glasses), pottery tools cut to shape, masking tape (simulate leather), Tamiya and Vallejo paints.
Part1: Build model, sand on table because it's never flat. Glue both halfs together and clamp.
Part2: Cut the head off. lol!
Ok that is where I am right now... ::)
Sounds interesting. lots of photos please!
I didn't have a chance to do anything on the pilot when Carmen threw him across the room! :-*
It seems that the hammer is coming down!
Another RC enthusiast bites the dust. Welcome to the club, Greg >:(
