so this will just be a quick build of a Depron (Electrifly Pro-Formance Foam) Yak 55.

the plans say it that it should be made of EPP but after hours and hours of searching, I couldn't find anywhere near here that sells EPP. But I did come across this Pro-Formance foam and it can be bought at Great Hobbies in Mississauga
Below are pictures of the tiled plans i cut out and glued onto construction paper.
Tomorrow or the day after I should be finished cutting out the foam and start putting it together.

Finished tracing the plans onto the foam, cutting it out next.
I forgot to mention that this is 3 mm foam, not the recommended 9mm because I couldn't find any large sheets of 9mm and would've had to stick multiple pieces together.

So all the parts are cut out of the foam now.
My dad had this idea, inspired by Ed's idea of using fishing line around all the edges of his 3D plane. We took some of Aleene's Original Tacky Glue (bought from Michael's) and used paintbrushes to spread it along the edges. The original reason we bought this glue was to try and find an adequate cheaper replacement for CA, but this glue is very different from that. Its a slow drying thick glue. It dries fairly flexible as well, I did an experiment and made a hinge out of it, and it works pretty well.

It's coming along, most of the painting is done, and the rudder was almost done but I screwed up one side so now have to recut the rudder and paint it all over again. Hoping to have it RTF by skills challenge day.
Ed, what did you use for landing gear/skids? How did you make it?

For flying at the club field I would skip on landing gear. Just set up the motor with a prop saver type mount and belly land it. The landing gear would just be fragile and breaks easily trying to become a 3D master. Un necessary weight

painting is done. extra coats are just extra weight. no need looks great!
When i masked off the other side of the vertical fuse to paint the cockpit, when i pulled away the tape some paint also got pulled away so now there's some white spots all along right below the cockpit area. Also, the other side of the wing still needs to be painted orange.
Okay guys, horizontal fuse assembled, and lower part of the vertical fuse attached. Wing bracing finished and starting fuse bracing. Will have pictures up tomorrow.
