Title: pylon racers
Post by: imran1042 on September 16, 2013, 07:34:52 PM
Hi everyone,

I really want to fly nooners and really fast pylon racers, can anyone with knowledge of my flying level lead me in the right direction? Thanks :)

The trick with flying fast is learn to fly slow first. lol I wish I had that button from staples right now!  "That Was Easy!"

You have developed some good skills this season and those will improve more with time. We can talk at the field to help to get you in the right direction.

I would try to find out if the club you've found in Switzerland has a race series and maybe plan for that?

Or get a simple, clean efficient balsa plane (which will flex less than foam) around 35-40" and learn to fly that fast, i.e. turn left a lot!!!!

I'll see if I can think of one.

I suggest getting a delta foam wing like a Stryker or a Projeti for your first experiences with fast flight. These types of planes can't stall on landing and are easy to fix. Don't rush into something like F1.
