Title: Seafire XV Restored to Airworthy Condition
Post by: Andy Hoffer on February 01, 2014, 05:16:43 PM
Hi Guys:

I apologize if this has been posted here before (I don't think it has), but I had to share this with you.  This should get the juices flowing for anyone looking for a great project.  A perfect candidate for a scratchbuild project.

What a great restoration job and the news coverage and video footage is super too.  Thanks for bringing the clip up.  The Seafire is a beautiful plane.

A number of us in the morning crew recently went to the Canadian War Plane Heritage Museum in Hamilton to have a view first hand of many Canadian war planes that have been restored there.  It certainly is worth the trip.  (While I am not a member of the museum, apparently members can pay extra for a flight in any one of a number of planes that are airworthy and flown there.)

Oh, but to own a war bird would be great, but mine will have to be smaller replicas made of foam, balsa or plastic.  But I think I have just as much fun.
