#2014-18
Noonerers:
I hope this works out for the next race. I will be out of town.
Before you call me an idiot (again), please consider the objectives:
- a visual starter, not auditory. People could not hear the fog horn with a revving motor a foot from our ears.
- a quick release so Ed could not anticipate it. I challenge anyone to anticipate this thing. It fires at the speed of light.
- no person on the field of play. Considered dangerous.
- simple. Jack can fire this thing by himself. Full throttle on the TX fires it.
As I said in my note to Jack: "This is proof there is a fine line between a fertile mind and being full of sh#t. The jury is still out to which side I belong."
This is also proof there is a job for old 72 meg equipment, other than model sailboat race course marker anchors.
Happy racing. I hope to be at the field Wednesday, May 28, just after my return.
Frank
Can I ask what channel its on.... ;D
Looks great Frank and Jack! I think it should be toward the first pylon as that is the normal direction we will be looking. In the event of a north wind and we launch toward the north east the flag would be located at the north pylon(2)
Thoughts?
Thanks for your time making this Frank I don't know what we would do without you. The remainder of the time we don't know what to do with you but that's another problem

That was exactly my first reaction too!!! ;D
Andy
HEEEESSSS BBAAACCCCKKKKK!
Frank saw him at the airport and reported in.
Jack.
Yeah!! Frank was so distraught at the prospect of my return that he's left town for a week! Wise move!! ;D
Andy
It looks like the starting flag is getting excited about the race ;D
Very cool.
On non race days I'd like to take it to work, hide it around a corner and when they get near it... whap! Hilarity ensues!
"The remainder of the time we don't know what to do with you but that's another problem"
So you sent Andy to the airport to make sure I got the heck out of the country. :D
Imagine poor me at the airport security having just gone through the metal detector the third time and still setting it off; having to take off my belt, take off my watch and being asked if I had had an operation (brain transplant? I didn't think it would show!), getting myself together again and looking up and seeing Andy standing there with a grin on his face. Proof this world is wayyyy too small.
It looks like the starting flag is getting excited about the race [/size]
