No high-start required, and 3.5meters at ~500g. Super soaring.

Unfortunately most of North America would rather fly ALES,
The latter is simpler, with only a simple maximum motor altitude cut off compared to F5J's bonus points based on altitude.
Getting a good read on the ground and shutting down very low is the key to winning a round in F5J.
Landing is more challenging in F5J as well, no points for going over the task time.
