Proof positive that weather forecasts, real-time or otherwise, should ALWAYS be taken with at least one grain of salt.
You cannot believe how beautiful it was at TEMAC yesterday. The runway was freshly washed Sunday morning, then the sun came out and dried everything out. By 1:30 p.m. with gorgeous left-over towering cumulus clouds and light SW to NW winds (well, OK, 15 gusting 25 knots (27G45 kmh), but certainly nothing a pilot trained by Mike H & Co. couldn't handle), it was a positively magnificent fall day.
And I didn't even bring my camera so no fear of harassment. The couple of visitors who stopped by had trouble believing we have over 100 members, but after my long and windy glorification of TEMAC maybe they understood why nobody else showed up that day.
Highlight of the day: finding another memento of Frank - a #6/#8 drywall anchor plug in the parking lot. I could feel his spirit beckoning me into the beans, but I waved, thanked him profusely for his kind offer of an opportunity to walk in his footsteps, and confined my landings to the runway. ;D
Looking forward to seeing you all next Sunday.
Best regards,
Andy "Waiting for the Snow" Hoffer
Way to go Andy!
I missed you.
