Title: Baby Proof
Post by: Gregor77 on October 09, 2014, 08:40:25 AM
Ok, this is all new to me.. but after seeing a friends baby ravage their home, I am hoping for some insite to prevent the planes from being damaged.  Right now I have a security key pass lock on the basement, but I feel that this might not be enough...  ???

I will be happy to help you out Greg. The only thing I can think of is to get them out of the house. I will take as many planes as you care to give me. I am sure other members would step up and help too.

unless the little one learns to pick locks you should be fine (for now)... as they get older get them involved and they will see how much work goes into building a plane.

I'll be happy to babysit... Just tell me where the key to downstairs is kept.... in case the basement floods or something.

Stop living your life before you get there. Wait and work things out if and when they happen. That's part of the fun of being a parent.

I found a leash tied to the stair railing works well.  Especially when using those collars with the spikes that dig in when the animal pulls on the leash.

I also found death threats work well.  You know the one "We brought you into this world, we can take you out!"

;D  Good times ahead!

The locking door is a start but there will be that once that you forget to lock it.  As a back up I always go on and on about the huge spiders and creepy things I find in my workshop.

Good luck on all fronts Greg!

locked door and a babygate as a backup.  The bonus part of the gate is that it will allow the cat to still get to the basement.

Well, my cousin build a hangar/secondary house in his backyard.
That could work  :P

The issue is that the zoning in Stouffville limits building the size of Hamilton Air Museum.

Right now we have 90% of the planes in the basement in storage.  Wings off for the easy ones.  I am still going to have some ready to fly.  I am not dead yet.     According to some of the members with more experience at this stuff, I still have a year before she starts moving.

Your first big obstacle is getting ALL the models downstairs... Not sure that is possible, but that is step one....

See, you even have a choice of colors.  ;D
