Title: Sig Ninja balsa jet
Post by: Michael on October 26, 2014, 03:35:30 PM
I bought this already-built slope soarer, and finished it off with a jet (4-cell EDF system from a Parkzone Habu).

I built a simple saddle for the fan unit, and installed two servos in the wing instead of one in the fuselage.

I'm hoping this will be a quick but easy to fly model, to be maidened/flown next spring.

Now that this is done and out of the way, I'll clean up and prepare to start my main winter project, a 96" Grumman Albatross.

Hopefully, I'll start about a week into November.

Maiden was a success, and the second flight was also excellent. A great flyer!

There is no noticeable pitch up or down with the application or reduction of throttle, and despite its weight (it weighs a motor, fan, ESC and a battery more than intended) it slows down and lands very nicely.
