Title: GP Siren hotliner nose repair
Post by: Frank v B on February 22, 2015, 04:19:29 PM
Scored a 7' span Great Planes Siren at the Milton swap meet for $30.00!  A $200 ARF.  ;D  Everything is in good shape except the front 1" of the nose/firewall is missing from a crash.  I plan to repair the nose using carbon fibre sock and a male nose mold (pink foam in the picture).  Will post the results as the repair progresses.

I plan to use two layers of carbon, one on the inside and one on the outside to trap/secure the 3" split seam in the fuselage bottom.

Frank (the repair guy.)

due to factors beyond my control (stupidity) the photo will follow as soon as technology stops fighting me... and winning... and becomes my friend. :D .  Stop laughing Jack.

The "factors beyond his control" means his son Tom has not come home yet.

Frank does not "fight technology", he surrenders without a fight.

LOL

Jack.
