Title: C of G inquiry Hangar 9 Camel
Post by: the giant on August 05, 2015, 03:03:17 PM
Does anyone own a Hangar 9 sopwith camel?  If you do, i would like to know what the measurement of the chord of the top wing is.  I have read the manual which states the c of g to be 102 mm from the leading edge of the top wing.
The reason i need to know is that i have restored a VQ/Proctor Sopwith camel.  I don't have any directions/instructions and would like to know what percentage 102 mm is of the top wing.  This percentage will hopefully give me a "ballpark" figure to use on my Camel which is slightly smaller.
Any help is appreciated.

I have 4 of them. Let me check. At least it's a good start for you.

FWIW, this post suggests 3" back from the LE of the top wing for the CG:
