Title: Airplane Search & Rescue
Post by: eddiecj on September 10, 2015, 07:15:33 PM
As the story goes, a fellow member lost all control of his plane, and the really powerful thermals last week didn't help either, resulting in his plane disappearing in the blue yonder, some members searched and searched with no success. So as is the case usually i was asked about an aerial view and i of course was more than eager, i found several planes, choppers, and even a funky cool batman plane at different clubs, i love finding lost RC craft, knowing someone will get their plane back is reward enough for me. In this case as with every case, as we all know, the plane is usually much further than you think it is and no case highlights that like this one, man did it get swept away, guys on the ground spent 3 hours searching the woods and surrounding fields, but the grasses in many spots were about 2-3 ft high, and could conceal a plane just feet away but they were nowhere near anyway. When i got there i knew the plane as always would be much further than anticipated, i set out into the sky and within a couple of minutes i spotted something gleaming in the grasses, BINGO! i confirmed it with an overpass then doubled back to guide Dennis to his plane, the video is not the most exciting thing in the world, i decided to upload it because the vast fields and seclusion of Seaton are beautiful in HD, combined with rock steady video from the awesome Zenmuse H3-3D is impressive (no post steadying here) not needed, i may have chosen the right song too lol though the music doesn't kick in till the first min or so. The actual distance away that this plane had been was amazing, we were a long ways off from our field before i even decided to launch,  I'm glad i was able to find another for anyone really not just a member, if the smallest piece is visible from the air, whether deep in a tree or wherever, i'll find it!
