I've had some product problems with items from Horizon Hobby, but the last issue was taken care of so quickly and nicely that I wanted to share it.
I flew my giant (2 meters, 12 pounds) E-Flite T28 last Sunday, and after a landing I smelled an electric burning odor coming from the plane. I thought it was the speed control, but it was in fact the landing gear retract mechanism in the right wing, which in turn melted a small hole in the wing. I took a photo of the hole.
On Monday I called Horizon Hobby product support, explained to them what happened, and emailed the photo to them.
On Thursday a new wing and retract was delivered to my door, no charge.
Very nice when a company looks after their customers with good service.
How awesome is that. wow
Now they just need to start making retract units that don't melt stuff.... ;)
Had a similar experience with them years ago with a Spitfire. No fussing, they sent me a new wing within days. I'm there's lots we could complain about when talking about Horizon Hobby but their customer service isn't one of them... unless you're Greg, then you are out of luck
