Title: Float flying with Aurora club
Post by: Skyking on April 21, 2016, 01:48:12 PM
Hi Guys and gals,

905 Squadron (Aurora) have a float site at Muscleman's lake.
I spoke to their president when I was at the Swap meet and he said they would be open to having a combined float fly  there with Temac.
Any thoughts? Yes/no, When? who to be involved? ETC.

Kind regards,

Ken

Most important thing is whether Musselman Lake offers all the fabulous amenities of Piker's Lake Scugog RC Float Flying Resort (sun deck, barbecue, beverages, fabulous sunsets, sleeping accommodations, repair & fiberglassing facilities)  8)

Muscleman's lake on the other hand offers protein shakes, pull up bars and dudes saying "Bro" a lot....

Who's supplying the rescue boat?

I will be there and I could bring my boat, although if it's a place the Aurora club flies, and we're joining them, I would assume there's already a boat available.

BTW, Peter pointed out that the name of the lake is incorrect in this post, and for those not familiar with the lake are having a hard time locating it on Google Maps.  It's Musselman Lake here:

I don't know the exact location yet, but I'm sure Greg will get us that link as we get closer to the date.

looking at the Amac/905 Squadron forums all there previous float flys have been at the same location:

WHERE: Musselman Lake; 14821 Ninth Line

but i'll get confirmation on that

Thanks Greg. My commitment here changes by the minute and I may yet end up there for a short visit.
Sky, are you going?
