Congratulations Dave. Dave has obtained his solo privileges this morning.
Flying solo is a major milestone on the way to earning his MAAC wings. After demonstrating care, control and responsibility when operating his model aircraft, Dave has demonstrated that he can fly without buddy-box instruction and verbal direction and I can save my finger from holding down the trainer link button.
Dave will now be allowed to fly with an Instructor observing his flying from a distance and supervise when necessary by providing him with tips to improve his flying without breathing down his neck.
In other words, once a student has been approved to fly solo, they may fly their training model at any time when an Instructor is present at the field. Solo flights by student RC pilots must follow the MAAC Safety Code and TEMAC Rules.
Let's go students. If Dave can do it.... ::)
Photo to follow, right

Thanks entirely to the Flight Instruction Team and Ground Crew.
And... honestly... Bruce's index finger has Trainer Link Button-itis.
Cheers.
Allright Dave way to go...
Congrats
Congratulations! Way to go Dave!
NICE! I'm guessing the firewall held together? :D
Yes, I think the firewall not falling off (3 times) was a major contributing factor.
What a great community... thanks all.
Congratulations Dave! Well done and well on the road to earning your wings.
