Title: Aero Commander : RIP ?
Post by: davidk on September 06, 2019, 03:02:39 PM
Once may have been recoverable.  Twice, with a bit more work.  But... I backed up over my Aero Commander 3 times on Wed. night.  My newly finished SpitBoard was unscathed... as both were put on the garage floor Wed. afternoon because it was too windy to fly either.

I'm not going to say for sure that it's not repairable... I'll leave that to the experts... but there were so many pieces I'm still finding some.

Please tell me I'm not the only dope to drive over his own plane.

Lesson learned... don't put planes on your garage floor... and then run over them.

I loved that little Aero Commander. :'(

How much is your deductible on your home or auto insurance?

I know where I will be standing next time I see you trying to park.

Further, I don't see anything in that bag that could be salvaged for a warwing.

$800... but that was a good idea... I didn't think of it.

Yes... I do have a little trouble backing up to the fence.  But here's the really crazy part... I have a backup camera!

Warwing... that is an amazing idea.  A tiny warwing.  I'll check the motors and servos... see it they are still alive.  If so... a baby blue warwing.

Oops, I do not recall covering this when we were teaching you.
Bruce let's add "don't drive over your planes" to the teaching guidelines. ;D

or.... we should pick smarter students. ;)

Too bad it happened.  Save the servos unless of course you tenderized those too.

About 35 years ago I drove over one of my balsa-built airplanes.

I sat on a Tamiya kit I was working on a few years ago... lol

Also I like the mini warwing idea!
