Title: Build Class this Wednesday, January 22, Col Mustards
Post by: Frank v B on January 19, 2020, 01:08:17 PM
The second BUILD CLASS will be held this coming Wednesday at Colonel Mustards.  The tone is very informal and so is the dinner.
Some of us show up early because of our schedules (I control mine... when my wife lets me!).  We try to head downstairs at about 7 pm.  Note: there is no pressure to join us for dinner.  Come when you can.

We will use the same approach as last class.  Bring your project and put it on a table.  We all gather around the table.  Show us your problem/question/sticking point.  Everybody else will offer a solution or a point to be careful about.  That usually leads to other questions other modellers have.

One thing is for sure.  We have all made mistakes on a build or a re-build.  Don't be shy.

Here's hoping:
- Piker can come and show us his latest repair or build project.
- Mark- brings his SlowPoke landing gear repair.
- Guy- gives us an update on the Minimoa/Warwing
- Frank- The Stinson Voyager update before the covering starts.

Solutions are required.  Insults are requested.   ;)

Frank

Dunno if my ego can endure more abuse/insults.    :P.
I will bring the Warwing to show the Bomb Drop...

Guy,

re: "ego can endure more abuse/insults."

Sooner or later "e-go" becomes "e-went"

Join the club. :)

@Frank v B  "re: e-go vs e-went."

I will be there, so should that be "e-come"?
:D

@Frank v B , and I thought that the past tense of "to come" was "came" or "has come" or "had come".  Either way. ego is gone.... Looking forward to seeing you and the gang tomorrow for some more lively discussions!!   ;D

I'll be building too!  Except it'll be in Ottawa... and It'll be 1400 lines of code that are being built in visual studio, with me waiting to see how many test cases I broke...

Have fun ya'll!

We had our meeting and had some fun.  We solved all the problems we created.

Here are the photos:

83- Guy's Warwing on floats(s). Painted and ready to maiden
84- Guy showing his two BSM's* that he can drop from his Warwing via a servo.
85- Rob and George.  No comment
86- Mark with all the problems solved on his SlowPoke
87- Wwwwwhhhhattt!  I didn't do it.
88- Piker was in good form.... explaining the flight path of his plane.

Thanks for dropping by.

@Frank v B , unfortunately, no picture of your beautiful work on the Stinson Reliant. :(
Great craftsmanship! :D
Thank you for your advice and suggestion on the rudder - will be corrected soon, prior to Maiden Flight.

I had a great time last night!  We had a small turnout but it was fun chatting about building... my favourite topic.

My goal last night was to get re-inspired to get back to building after not building for two months!  Ugh!  Mission accomplished.  I'll get back at the Eaglet tonight.

Thanks Frank for being our fearless leader (and awesome photographer)!

Great time last night - Lots of good pointers.
I'm continually amazed not only by the wealth of creativity of building and repair of RC airplanes, but the encyclopedic knowledge of the history of the individual aircrafts themselves.

Thanks to everyone. I had a great time and learned a lot. I came with many questions and got tips and some wise advice. The feeling of a group of friends helping each other was definitely in the air!!!  :)
