Title: Float flying at TEMAC
Post by: Michael on April 01, 2005, 09:58:05 AM
I purchased a set of GWS floats (for my GWS speed 400-size Tiger Moth). They look great on the plane.

Anyway, since I don't live near any water, I decided to make a change at TEMAC. I made arrangements for a crane and a digging crew to dig up a wide drench, about 10 feet wide, 5 feet deep, and about 100 feet long, at the eastern end of our field, in a north-south direction. I'm hoping that enough water will drain into and fill this hole so that we can take of from the water on our floats. I suppose landing on the water will be more of a challenge.

In case it doesn't fill enough, I'm going to ask all members to bring some water buckets each time you come flying.

Oh well, April Fool's is over.

Now I'll hire a crew to re-fill that hole.

Looking forward to flying at TEMAC within a few weeks .....

Michael,
Too bad they don't make floats for mud. I'm sure there's lots of that at TEMAC right now.
