We're having some very weird weather. Freezing, thawing, rain, snow... just about a lot of everything.
I saw at the field yesterday a long gouge in the grass along the parking lot beside the fence. This was caused by someone driving too close to the fence the length of the parking lot while it was wet and soft. Tires sunk in a few inches and left quite a mess.
On the runway I'm seeing lots of deep boot prints on the taxiway and runway. Yesterday the taxiway had a boot print filled with at least an inch of muddy water. These will translate into bumps and ruts in the spring. When it's wet and soft, please try to stay off the runway as much as possible. Walk around the runway along the grass... we'll be able to keep a much nicer runway doing this.
There is one pilot station down. If there's another nice day I'll try to get that back up.
Have fun but try to be mindful of the soft ground.
