Title: Cleaning RC planes
Post by: Gregor77 on September 09, 2022, 08:18:01 AM
Quick question, I have a plane with solar tax painted in what appears to be acrylic paint, it has oil and grease smeared all over the wing what can I use to clean this without damaging the wing?

It might have been old nitro or gas residue. I am concerned about chemicals lifting paint or pulling the covering from the wood.

1. Try using a small amount of dish-washing soap with a small amount of hot (not boiling) water, on a cloth (soft wash cloth) and gently wipe/swirl/clean a small area. If it works, continue, small area at a time.

2. Try using Goo-Gone, same technique as above.
