Title: CMP pro L4 rebuild
Post by: Gregor77 on November 17, 2022, 06:51:30 AM
Started rebuilding this CMP pro L4 a few weeks ago. Finally had a break from life and got a few hrs into it. It belonged to Geoff and became a you tube celebrity after a nice short film. But had a nasty stall and it shattered. I had to rebuild the structure in the front and make stronger supports. Otherwise clean up the cosmetics. Thanks to Ron for the small bits. I like fixing older ARFS. Gives you a chance to add some details and customize it a bit. Will be making A proper dash. Some accessories and a proper pilot figure.

Tip:  I save all my scrap wood and ply

- use poly fill big hole formula. It is stronger than regular wall filler. It sands nice.

- only use Med CA for attachment points. Don't use it to bond surfaces that require covering. It's hard to sand flat compared to soft balsa.

- it's a bummer when a wood plane crashes. But have fun, results are worth it.

- if you need help ask. There is loads of info and knowledge in the membership.
