The field will be closed on Tuesday May 30 from 9am to whenever we are finished.
We are rolling the geotex and grass runways.
Please pass this onto whomever you can to help ensure that no one shows up at the field on Tuesday morning expecting to fly but won't be able to.
We'll try to work out how long it may take and I'll post an update.
Thanks and here's looking forward to a few less bumpy takeoffs!
David
Can't appreciate enough the work done today by Glenn, Mark, and Jim. Beautiful day, but a hot day.
Riding Roller delivered, without issue, on time by Stephenson's. Not like last year's disaster perpetrated by Sunway.
I thought rolling the taxiways would be enough, but Glenn supposed that the canyons under the Geotex were too big and he was right.
The runoffs over the winter and spring developed tributaries under there.
The Geotex was lifted, Glenn brought out his wheelbarrow and we "borrowed" some earth from our favourite farmer.
We put back the Geotex and tucked under the edges for a much better fit and finish.
We done guys... the runway and taxiways are wonderful. Cheers!
