Another construction project before spring.
This is a Dancing Wings sport plane (Eyas), that I will modify into a twin ducted fan model.
It's wingspan is 1200mm and will be powered by 2 50mm EDF units.
You should have better success then I had with my twin.

This is the second time I've built a model airplane by Dancing Wings. I am truly not impressed by a few aspects of these kits. Although it is laser cut, so far I had to trim and file almost every tab and slot, and some strip-wood was missing. Also, the instructions are not easy to follow, and the instructions are poorly translated to English.
I could only recommend these models to someone with a lot of building experience.
Regardless, I'm pretty sure I'll end up with a good flying model.
I've decided to stick with the tail-dragger landing gear configuration. It may look unusual on a twin EDF model, but retracts or tricycle landing gear might be too much of a modification for a smaller size plane like this.
Anyway, the fuselage construction is done. I do like the canopy/battery-hatch, which is held on with magnets (supplied). The nose is unfinished, as it will be modified later.
The wing is under construction (easier than the fuselage, but still challenging). Before the wing is finished, I need to figure out how the EDF units will be attached.
Here is a suggestion
@Michael how about attaching them to the fuse sides instead of hanging from the bottom of the wing? This may simplify the esc and wiring.

That is more practical, but it's not the look I am going after.
I made forward swept pylons out of balsa and plywood, and built slots in the wing, against plywood ribs.
They're not glued in yet; that'll be after covering.
Basic construction and modifications are finished. Still to do before covering: sanding, parts-fit adjustments, landing gear set-up, and radio and control parts installed.
I have restyled the nose a bit longer to look more jet-like, and have built hatches on the wings where speed controls will be.
Covering, painting and basic assembly is done. I'm working on linkages and radio installation.
