Title: First training night- next Wednesday, May 7. starting at 5 pm.
Post by: Frank v B on May 02, 2025, 06:13:23 PM
Come and join us at Rogo Field 5 pm for training, or a check flight (for new members) or a maiden flight .
Students have priority but anyone can fly.

If you are a student, please prep your plane per the instructions booklet and charge the batteries.  We will check out the plane, do a quick trim flight and get a buddy box to work with your transmitter.

This year Mark and Paul will do their best to check out your plane for safety reasons and one of the instructors will trim out the plane.

Here is hoping for good weather.

We had a terrific evening at the field.  Tried to do a check-out flight for a new member (Andy) who brought a 2.2-ish meter FMS Fox.  He was a Nitro Flyer years ago and wants to switch to electric.  It was a little windy for a hand-launch glider but we test flew it anyway for a trim flight.  The motor looked small, the battery looked small (1300-ish) but surprise- it launched fine, trimmed fine.  It ran out of juice a 100 feet too early....or the runway moved 100' upwind.  Sorry Andy.  My fault.  No damage.

Trimmed out his 1.3 meter P-51.  It flew fine, trimmed out fine and landed fine..eventually on the 3rd bounce.

On the Temac member side there were Guy, Mark, George, Glenn, Paul G. Paul S., Alex, Kenny, Andy (old), Andy (new), and a quick visit by Cadez.

I appreciated the help that Frank gave me on my first time out.  He did a great job with both planes especially with the strong gusts and wind.  Mark also took the time to introduce me to the rules, layout and the guys at the field.  Nice way to start!
