MAAC is offering a new program called the Off-Site Flyers Program (OFP) for RPAS and mRPAS.
You can register for this program here: MAAC Off-Site Flyers Program (https://maac.associationconcepts.ca/)
This program allows MAAC members, once approved, to fly at locations that do not have a MAAC SOC. For example, your cottage.
The OFP Document can be found at the link above as well as the Safety Document that governs your flying.
The OFP has nothing, at all, do to with TEMAC. If you are approved for the OFP and fly at a site then that flight is between you and MAAC and TC.
While you are flying at TEMAC, the OFP has nothing to do with your flying. TEMAC, MAAC, and TC rules continue to be the only rules applicable at TEMAC.
The OFP program does provide MAAC insurance but in a very specific way so make sure you read and understand the OFP Document carefully. E.g. If you want to fly at a site under the OFP and the landowner requests proof of insurance then that site cannot be used for the OFP. You would then need to apply for an SOC for that site.
The OFP is free for this year and has a cost of $50 starting in 2026.
Please post any questions you may have regarding the OFP and I'll try to get answers for you.
