General invitation to Toogood Pond for some sailing and motor boat fun.
I requested fair weather and my wish was granted.
Looking forward to see you there from approximately 2:00 to 4:00.

The Schooner needed a Captain.
I am pleased to introduce Captain Jack!
Thank you @Crash Mike for printing the figurine.
The box is made from 1/4 X 1/2 scrap balsa strips.
Once the additional coats of varnish added to the box, magnets will be added to secure to the deck.

Yes, I was there* at 4:58.  Yes, I took a snooze.  No, it did not stop raining.  The POP was 100%.  The 90% in the forecast was optimistic.

The photo is of an angry sky taken at 6:15.

* I run my own business, live near Yonge and Eglinton and always set up appointments in the north end on Wednesdays.  I had one at Leslie south of 7 before training and Elgin Mills and Yonge after training.  Sometimes Mother Nature wins.  Worth the risk.

Quote from: electroflyer on May 20, 2025, 07:17:37 PMI replaced mine using piano wire that I cut to size. I have now moved the failure point to something more expensive! ;D

Someone online has sent me measurements to have just that part replaced. Should save me from ordering any more struts. Probably going to make that part out of steel instead of aluminum so it's stronger. That should move the failure point to the actual foam gear mount which shouldn't give out unless I'm abusing the plane

I guess I'll update that the f16 is 90% fixed just need to re epoxy the wing mount onto the fuselage but the rest is fully repaired

Since the light became de soldered I've decided to fly it without a gear door until I feel comfortable with it. I still have a replacement door but I'd like to not break a third

Unless there is a complete reversal of the forecast, I think I will pass on tonite.
Wet Windy and 10 degrees - not worth the drive in rush hour

Our intrepid CFI, Frank v B, asked me to post on his behalf, that despite the terrible forecast he will be at the field today starting about 5:00pm.
With a 90% pop, and winds of 29kph/44kph, I suspect he will take the opportunity to have a quick snooze in the car.
