Personal Maidenfest weekend.

Got to set up and fly many airplanes this weekend:
- Siren warmliner- bought it at the Milton/Oakville Swap meet in February. Put in a 28mm outrunner which is a lot lighter than the old brushed motor it was designed for or the 32mm outrunner upgrade. Wrapped lead solder around the nose. Glenn takes full credit for the successful flight because he hand-launched it.

How power gliders have changed. The fuselage is the size of the Rifle 1 meter but the span is twice as big (2 meter or 78").
- Spirit 100" glider with an E-Flite .10 on 3 cells- This time Jim Spence takes full credit for the successful flight because he launched it.

- Rearwin Speedster with an E-Flite 32 on 4 cells. From the Cadez Collection. Flew fine but would not turn left without full deflection aileron and rudder. Wing appears warped. Will fix. Lots of power, lots of lift. Thanks Greg!
- Oscar's B-17- helped him with his successful maiden. I had to add lots of trim adjustments while Oscar was concentrating on flying. Great to see a graduate student do well on his own.
- Trevor's large Corsair ( .25 size on 4 cells). A visitor who was sent our way by a hobby shop. First flight and it went fine. He will join TEMAC this week.

Add this to last week's RedEagle maiden and it has been a good week.

Jack takes full credit for the terrific weather the last two days.

Thank you Frank for helping me maiden the B-17F. With 72" wingspan, this is the biggest foam plane I ever own. Here is the maiden flight footage. (6Ch, runs on 2x2200mah, 3S by Sonic Modell)

Hey Frank,

Had an awesome time out. TEMAC has an amazing field. Just got my MAAC membership going and can't wait to earn my wings.

You really helped me out with the Corsair, you reacted really quickly to my trim issues, I'd like to think that I would have but was awesome having someone so experienced take the fear out of my maiden.

My 1.5m mustang arrives tomorrow, you game for a repeat?

Do you have a trainer model?

I don't think a Mustang is suitable for training.

If not, I can bring a powered glider for you to practice on.

Boys, boys,

Trevor is a good flyer and is just joining. It was the first flying he has done in a club setting flying with other people. The only training he needs is field etiquette (circuits, calling out take-offs and landings etc). He knows he needs a check-out flight and take-off and landing reference points. He is just fine with all the stuff between the take-off and landing.

I will handle on Wednesday.

It makes a HUGE difference. It's the confident and the trust. I know my plane will be safely landed from a maiden flight.

Phew, was worried there, didn't want to have to bust out my supercub hahaha

That said, will probably 'train' on my sukhoi. Though it is a 3d plane, it is my most comfortable airframe to date. I've run at least 60 batteries through it.
