Dear TEMAC - for those who are interested, here's the latest news from DH Apprentice Association...

Dear all

Here are some links to videos and on line events that might be of interest to you.

Those of you with motor racing nostalgia will be interested to read this message from Hugh Langrishe (DHA Hatfield 1946-49). "In May last year I was honoured with a visit by Clive Beecham with his 'No. 15' Ecurie Ecosse D-type Jaguar. We had a wonderful day out on the public roads in glorious weather. Photographer Richard Suckling has assembled a video which combines that day with 'Le Mans 1957', in which No. 15 was second. This most nostalgic production went public on YouTube yesterday morning (31st May) under the title 'The Big Six'."
In 1957 Hugh was given the job of keeping times and lap charts for all of the Ecosse Jaguars. This excellent video lasts just under 15 mins and is at www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlwtqK0xYwI

The Shuttleworth Trust at Old Warden still plans to restart air shows from July. In the meantime they are holding an on line event 'Ask The Pilots: Racing Aircraft' using Zoom on Saturday 20th June, booked in advance at £5. It will include a 'live tour' of the Mew Gull. See www.shuttleworth.org/events/askthepilots-racingaircraft/

Steve Bohill-Smith sent us this link to a short video 'Flying with the Tiger 9 Display Team': www.youtube.com/watch?v=sglmS9eUVXQ. It was a practice in 2016 at Charlton Clumps near Pewsey. The film was taken by Jenny Tye, sitting in the front seat of G-AOBX using a GoPro attached to a stick. Steve was the pilot.

The de Havilland Museum at London Colney (Salisbury Hall) are starting a series of bookable on line events, £5, beginning with 'Trident – Air Travel Pioneer' on Tuesday 16th June, 7pm BST. All the details are on their website at www.dehavillandmuseum.co.uk and on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/deHavMuseum

Last year Roger Mason (DHP Hatfield 1962-67) filmed his local charity airshow at Brantford, Ontario, including footage of the Canadian Lancaster and of the Snowbirds team. He has shared it at www.dropbox.com/s/zljpnmvrgz3evw5/Brantford%2028%20Aug%202019.mov?dl=0

Best wishes to everyone,
