Apprentice STS binding issue

I was helping Kenny yesterday in trying to bind the Apprentice STS with his DX8 without success.

When I went home and re-read the manual.  I found on page 32 - it talks about light indication. 

Rapid blue flashing with elevator move up - This matches Kenny's STS. 

Kenny - If you are reading this, you need to reverse AUX1

At the beginning of the manual, page 7, it talks about setting up the radio.  It didn't indicate you need to reverse the AUX1  (The old Apprentice S setup does require reverse AUX1)

Also, Kenny was using the old setting which has assigned the PANIC button and the Instructor/Student buddy box in the same 'I' switch.  This STS didn't like that setup.

Although I created a new model and follow the manual, but I only follow to page 7.  I guess even the new STS, you need to reverse the AUX1 too.

And finally, the STS comes with a SMART ESC which requires you to plug to CH6.  It doesn't matter for you since you are not using the SMART battery, you can plug the SMART ESC to CH1 or CH6.  CH1 means you wont receive any Telemetry information.
