Not sure if I should even say "gas turbine" on the TEMAC web site, but how can we not congratulate TEMAC member and former TEMAC VP Bill Quantock ( @Wingnutz ) for his great article on REAL GAS TURBINE conversions of EDF jets!

Congrats Bill!  Your photo clearly screams that you are having way too much fun on the dark side!!

Cheers!

Thanks for the kind words Andy. The journey to the "dark side" has been huge fun as is improving my skills with the full size 150, but I still find time to celebrate my electric roots...five minutes ago actually!

Mr. W. Nutz,

I did a double take when I saw the photo in MAAC Mag.  You clearly are enjoying life.  Great to see.

There is no dark side in this hobby as long as it involves model airplanes.  How you wish to power it is up to you.

Please make sure you drop by TEMAC when you have to go to the big bad city.  We would all like to see you at Rogo Field.

Hi Frank,
Life here certainly has its benefits...but I miss the camaraderie of ROGO field, the pilots' nights and the build classes TEMAC offers...in particular, the first build classes Jack and you ran. Still have my U-ville Norseman and fly it once a year.
I keep watching the website to see if TEMAC is going to schedule any events this year, hoping for an ELECTRIC jets day, but I understand why this is probably wishful thinking on my part. That said, I'll see if I can lean on friend Guy O'Reilly once again for a ride to ROGO when the weather is very good, especially if anyone is getting together for a BofB day in September!
Cheers!
