What is your thoughts on this one?  It's pricey and I think that I would be better off getting a BUSA kit, did you know that BUSA has an albratoss coming this year in 1/4 scale?

Is that the one about 1/6 scale? If so this one has been re-painted. What is the story on a BUSA D.V? I haven't been following the BUSA forums much. If 1/4 I assume kit cost will be in mid to high $300 range. Pretty much same as the 1/6 D.V ARF I am thinking of.

I have had in my hands kits or models of their 1/4 scale Pup, Fokker D.VII and D.VIII. Based on the D.VII kit here is my opinion for what its worth.

Are you a good builder? I mean clean, orderly, willing to walk away for the evening when it gets tough or you are butting your head up against a wall and come back tomorrow with a clear frame of mind. If so look at the Proctor kit. Yes more up front but frankly the BUSA D.VII is not much less work than the Proctor D.VII. Also much of what you would put into a BUSA kit comes with the Proctor kits. If you are willing to build a BUSA kit this size and all the effort involved the pride of ownership and completion of the Proctor kit is worth it. The most difficult part of the build would be the skinning of the fuselage. I assume BUSA will be balsa sheeted and sanded to shape. Maybe sheet that in 1/64 ply for the look.

I have downloaded and read maybe a dozen build threads on the Proctor kit. Plus quite a few youtube films and have tons of other full size reference material. All say it flies like a big trainer just looks lots better. If you want to copy the plans and manual drop by. You can look the kit over but we will HAVE to fit it back in the box at the end of the night!

ps NO I AM NOT SELLING MINE. But working together on a pair could be fun!

Thanks Stephen, I didn't even consider the proctor kits...  I am going to take a look now...
