Heli motor vs Fixed wing??

I have a Heli motor, DT 2220-6XL 2250Kv, (6 turns) with a cooling fan.

I bought it at a swap meet for $5.00 brand new, never been used.
It seems to be well made. I did not notice it was a Heli until I got home.

What should concern me if I wanted to use it in a plane?

There is no concern at all.  Some heli motors can be a pain to mount a propeller on but otherwise its fine.  I did a quick search and came up with nothing.  Who is it made by Jack?

Often heli motors use different magnet arrangements to increase the Kv above what you would typically get
for the same size of motor with "normal" LRK or CD-ROM style windings
Cooling fans are added since there is no prop blast to provide cooling air.

You don't say how big it is (or if it is an inrunner or an outrunner), but 2250kv would mean it is intended to turn in the range of 15K-20K rpm on 3S lipo

Hi Pat and Ed.

It's an outrunner with a black ribbed casing and blue anodized ends. the machine work is very smooth and it looks like it might be a Turnigy from a couple of years back. It is heavier than I would have expected (85g) and it's 28mm diameter and about 35mm including the fan.

It's 2515Kv for 3-4 LiPo, 32A max for a Trex 450.

Its a clone of that motor.  As there have been several other motors made in the same plant to the same specs as the Hacker and rebranded I suspect this might be one of them.  If you decide to sell it let me know I will offer $10 lol

Bit of an odd ball for a 450 motor, normal Kv for 3S would be ~3500, so this one would need a 4S setup.
But at only 85 grams it is too light to be able to extract any extra power from a heavier 4S setup.

The small shaft would make it a bit fragile for a direct drive prop.
