Unfortunately, a structural failure in the horizontal stab resulted in a ground proximity issue in a bad attitude.
First responder, Peter, bravely and carefully salvages what he can.

The LiPo has been placed on the concrete slab by the frequency board "resting" before disposal within the next few days.
Always respect the battery :o

Yes the dangers of lipo batteries!
Thank god it wasn't my battery's I brought in lolz.

Here's a tip when charging lipo's if you haven't known already.
When you get a brand new battery you should cycle them 2-4 times before use!
Cycle - Means charge it up full and discharge it back down at 1amp to 3.80-3.85v per cell.  (more cycles the better)
During the first 2 flight take it easy on the throttle to break in the battery.
Try not to over charge or over discharge them under 3.80V per cell.
Cycle them once every 3-4 months, even during storage mode for the winter!
Doing all this will ensure the battery life span, have less chance of losing some of its MAH, and have a better chance of it not puffing so fast!

Never leave your battery unattended while charging but I know most of us do! so here's another solution for that.
Here's a picture of how I charge my battery's at home in the garage on the concrete floors with a bag of sand on top!
(Sand could be found at any parks) lolz.
I think it was Francais who told me his 2s 800mah caught fire in his house while charging, lucky he was there watching.
Its not recommended to charge your lipo's inside the house but if you do use PLEASE use the bag of sand.

Thanks for the info, Fearless.
Being new to the hobby, I found the linked article fairly easy to understand.
(Be sure to watch the LiPo Burning video.)
