Hi All,

Bryan here, a newbie looking forward get into some serious RC modeling. Did some research, applied for MAAC, was looking for a local club then stumbled upon this forum and really liked it, deceived that I'd love to be part of it. However I do have some questions regarding the TEMAC application. Hope someone could point out some directions for me.

1. The fee structure says that after Oct 1st the fee would cover the current year as well as the next year. Is there any flexibility to that date? It's only a week from now and I'd really like to start the process asap, or do I have to wait for that date to apply.

2. So far the only option I've found for paying the membership fee is via cheques. But since I don't have any cheques (never got em, never needed em), Is it possible to do any other kinda of payment, like cash in person or email transfer?

3. Is it okay to send the application form electronically via email?

4. It'd be really nice to have a chance of actually paying a visit to the TEMAC field some time soon. I gathered that during the training season it'd be best to do it on Wednesday nights but since that's over by now when would be the best chance of catching someone at the field?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to join the club.

Hi Bryan,

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the club!! See, I'm presumptuous!

Let me try and answer your questions....

All membership applications need to be submitted to Andy Hoffer. In person or post are the 2 usual methods.  Send me a private message and I'll see if I can help.

Payment is only cash in person or cheque I'm afraid. You can give cash to any member of the Board, and there is usually at least one of us there on either a Saturday or Sunday.

By all means come to the field and meet people and chat. Again, weekends are the best now that evenings are drawing in, and our field suits flying after 11am usually. It's probably busiest after 2pm.

Hope I didn't miss anything. Once again welcome and thanks for posting.

Thank you Simon and Robert, will come on Saturday and try to get everything processed in person.

FYI, I'm fully aware of the wing program and that I can't fly solo right away, but does that apply to dummy's rc (camera drones) as well? Would it be okay to bring a phantom and snap some areal shots of you cool people doing cool stuff?

BTW, went to AJ's today to check out some trainers, somehow ended up getting a nano cpx. After spent the whole evening trying to bind it to a taranis and programming it (poorly) and then crashing it into everything around the house, I must say, what an effective way of flushing out the phantom controls out of your system...

I'm afraid you cannot fly at TEMAC without wings. We keep that as a rule to avoid any grey areas or ambiguity. So no Phantom I'm afraid.
